I've
been Director of English Education at Arkansas State University and an
ACTELA member since 1991. Before becoming an Arkansan, I lived in Oklahoma,
where I taught high school English and attended OU. (Go Sooners!) I've
served ACTELA as a Board member since 1993, and I was ACTELA President
for two years. Lately I co-edit the Arkansas Anthology and chair
the English Teacher of the Year Committee. I'm currently writing a textbook
titled Dynamic Argument, and in my spare time I perform in community
theater. My wife Martha teaches elementary school in Jonesboro, and my
three children (John, Alexi, and Mark) are students at ASU.
