Welcome to the Arkansas Council of Teachers of English and Language Arts Website

We are a nonprofit organization whose aim is the improvement of the teaching and learning of English and language arts in the state of Arkansas. ACTELA provides a variety of services to meet the diverse needs of its members. These services include working with the Arkansas Curriculum Conference, offering conference mini-grants, recognizing outstanding language arts teachers throughout the state, and producing the yearly Arkansas Anthology. 

Joining is easy. Either complete our online registration process or print out the membership brochure and send a check for the membership level selected to the address listed.

ACC 2014 Featured Author!
Crystal Allen is the author of The Laura Line and How Lamar's Bad Prank Won a Bubba-Sized Trophy.

She has received a Florida Sunshine State Award Master List nomination and was a Junior Library Guild selection

ACC 2013 Featured Author!

Mike Mullin was the keynote author at ACC 2013. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife and her three cats. Ashen Winter is his second novel.
